Several years ago, I stumbled upon Life Entrepreneurs by Christopher Gergen.  I'm a doer by nature, and while I         love to read, I learn best by practical application.  This was one of those rare moments where I had hit a wall with doing, and I was struggling with living.  My beautiful son Dylan was less than a year old, and what I affectionately call my firstborn child, Year Up National Capital Region, was still a toddler.  I felt like Sisyphus, but I was unfortunately pushing TWO boulders uphill- my organization and my family.  And no matter how hard I tried or pushed, I couldn't figure out how to keep either of these precious boulders from rolling back down the mountain.  As I began reading about Life Entrepreneurship, it helped plant the seed that has germinated into the vision I have today- Live. Learn. Grow.™ Through my blog, Shared Roots, I hope to both share what I have learned and learn in public so we can grow together.
